From my last blog you will no how we travelled to George Town and boarded our boat visiting several places iguana island being one of them. Now we were off to see the swimming pigs and nurse sharks.
Close to pig island we could see a couple more boats in the distance. Tourists of course but all in small groups and not crowded by any means. The pigs are used to being fed and the skipper provided us with food for the piggies. As soon as the boats get close the pigs start to swimming up for food.
Getting off the boat over to the island there is a mixture of big and small pigs. I think due to the time of year we missed any piglets. They are so cute and playful it’s great to see them on there own island totally inhabited. We stayed for a while taking pictures, swimming and stroking the pigs before we moved on to Nurse sharks.
The setting for the nurse sharks is fabulous it’s along a beautiful Jetty, no one else was there. The water starts shallow and becomes deeper which is good for me. I’m not keen on sea animals in water with me. I can snorkel and that’s about it. I decided to brave it and got in. They are very Gentle and well fed which is what makes them choose to come to area as the locals feed them daily. I’ve attached the pictures however I look scared haha. But I was.
