If your looking for a place to visit for a day or two. Get in some walking, a few drinks and chill out by the sea. I no a perfect place !
Folkstone. I had an awesome long weekend there. The sun was shining which helps and doesn’t happen often in England. Folkstone is in Kent an hour drive from the dart crossing. It’s a beautiful town just along the white cliffs.
It really has it all. The white cliffs are a view in themselves, with fantastic walks around them, but don’t forget the rest. It’s buzzing down on the harbour and along the old station. Street art all over the place makes it interesting and quirky. The beaches are nice and the water for England is pretty much as clear as you can get. Plenty of street food and outside bars along the harbour. It’s a pretty town with fishing boats and crabbing all round. I might have had the best fish and chips ever. Maybe it’s because the chips were garlic chips. Heaven.
I stayed at the Grand Burstin hotel which is in a prime location right on the harbour front. It’s slightly dated but still cheap, has parking, caters for your basic essentials and most importantly allows dogs, my chihuahua likes to join me when he can. What else could I ask for ? 🤷🏻♀️.
There are plenty of colour shops up the cobbled streets. Why not get a delicious breakfast at Bella vita.
